Ways To Create Extra Space In A Small Kitchen

Bigger cameras got bigger sensors and controls for better picture-taking abilities. And that’s why photographers love using massive gears, such as a Canon SLR camera. But for a small kitchen, it’s the other way around: smaller appliances are better. Continue reading to find out some ways on how you can make your small kitchen look bigger.

Get rid of anything that you’re using no longer. It can be an appliance that you have replaced with a new one or something that doesn’t work anymore. Let other people benefit from those items that still work but you don’t need. Give them to a relative, neighbor or a co-worker. Or you can put them up for sale in the front yard for cash.

Now for everything that’s left, sort them out according to the frequency of usage. If you simply leave them on the countertop, even if they’re small, together they can occupy so much space. Do you use the blender, toaster, or pressure cooker daily? How about the countertop microwave or coffee maker? Those which aren’t used regularly should go inside the cabinets.

When still in the process of shopping for appliances that you’ll need, go for space-saving versions. You may also purchase those which combine two or more functions in a single appliance. For instance, an over the range microwave is both an oven and a kitchen vent. Also, go for items which are painted white or any light color, or even those in plain Stainless Steel.

How you paint your kitchen walls say a lot about creating the illusion of space. Generally, plain white is the best color to achieve that effect. You may also use other colors, but go for light ones. Avoid applying wallpapers with bold prints or patterns. It will make your kitchen look cramped and busy, making it appear even smaller than its actual size.

The cabinets and floors should also take on the same approach, regarding colors. The brighter your kitchen is, the bigger it will appear. That’s why you should also try to install plenty of lighting. You may install some under the overhead cabinets to give those unused spaces some function. Get rid of clutter by using twist ties or clips to tidy up appliance cords.

Make the most out of any available space. Install a hanging rack on the ceiling and hang your pans, Pots, and other similar items. Now they need not take up so much space in the cabinets or shelves. Store in the high shelf above the ref your baking pans, serving plates and others which you don’t use frequently. Hang kitchen utensils on the walls by installing hooks.

Heartpounding suspense, hailed Entertainment Weekly of Peter Clement’s first medical thriller, Lethal Practice. Now the former ER physician has done it again–combining his technical expertise with a page-burning plot to create a chillingly plausible novel of suspense. With authentic detail and a surgeon’s precision, Clement captures the tense, electrifying atmosphere of a big city hospital turned into a flash point. For in Fatal Medicine, one threat is more dangerous than contagion: the threat of human beings deciding who should live and who should die. . . . Death is a daily, sometimes hourly, occurrence at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Buffalo, New York. Now, in his pressure cooker career, Dr. Earl Garnet has broken the cardinal rule of modern medicine: he publicly blames a powerful HMO for practicing no-fault murder in the death of an eighteen-month-old baby. The HMO swiftly strikes back, igniting a debilitating boycott of the hospital. But after several accidents nearly cost patients their lives, the true bloodletting begins. A doctor is found sprawled out in the parking lot, his throat cut ear to ear. Blamed for instigating the chaos, Earl Garnet knows that he faces more than a deadly power play. The doctor may have uncovered a conspiracy reaching from the halls of one of the nation’s most influential HMOs to a small, experimental clinic in Mexico, where yet another of his patients went for treatment and disappeared. To find answers, Garnet must wade deep into the murky, surreal workings of today’s health care industry. Smart, tough, crackling with suspense, and vivid in its hospital setting, this visionary novel instantly places Peter Clement in the distinguishedcompany of Michael Palmer and Robin Cook. Make no mistake: The Procedure is the work of a first-rate physician and an absolutely brilliant storyteller.
